  Sophia Melon is a Los Angeles based composer and songwriter. She has written music for Hans Zimmer owned Emmy winning and BAFTA nominated composer collective, Bleeding Fingers Music, as well as songs for Sony/ATV Music publishing. You can hear her original music streaming on numerous Netflix series and documentaries including Queer Eye, Roman Empire, Dope, Formula 1: Drive to Survive, and Girls Incarcerated: Young and Locked Up. You can also hear her music on the Leonardo DiCaprio produced television shows Jonestown: Terror in the JungleThe Men Who Built America: Frontiersmen, and The Titans That Built America as well as (Academy Award nominated documentary filmmaker) Joe Berlinger’s series Gone: The Forgotten Women of Ohio.  

 Sophia was part of the musical team behind the BBC and PBS’s critically acclaimed nature series Super Cats which was nominated for a 2019 News and Documentary Emmy for Outstanding Music and Sound. She also worked on the EPIX television show Berlin Station season 3, Ridley Scott produced The Man In The High Castle, and Disney Channel’s DuckTales. Sophia has worked on big budget studio films as well including Robin Hood (Lionsgate), and The Darkest Minds (20th Century Fox).

Sophia’s background is unique as she comes from the world of pop/rock. She was signed to Walt Disney Records in 2006 at age 15 as the bass player and background vocalist in the all girl rock band KSM. KSM was formed as a joint project between The Walt Disney Company and former chart-topping girl band The Go-Go's. KSM put out a full length album and toured the country multiple times opening for acts such as the Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato, and others.

Sophia received her undergraduate degree from Columbia University and studied film scoring at UCLA.
